To end the season at the Hitchin
development centre which is part of the Eastern Regional set up a challenge
match was organised on Tuesday 19th July. The session
was the last of the season before a break for the summer and it was good
to finish with something a bit different. 10 players from Greenhouse Harefield Academy attended along with Head Coach Eli Baraty to battle it out against the Hitchin
Development squad. Harefield were feeling confident
having recently won gold at the Alan Sherwood cup where all
the Greenhouse London Schools come together. The matches were organised in a Davis Cup format with 2 v 2 contests along
the 5 match tables. All matches were very competitive and
played in excellent spirit. The Hitchin Squad came
out winners with a 7-3 victory once all teams scores
had been collected.
Thanks to Eli for bringing players over from Harefield and a rematch will be organised
at Harefield Academy in the new season.
