Dear Player/Parent/Coach

I am pleased to attach an invite for you/your child/your player to attend the Eastern Region U13 Assessment day on Saturday 4^th July 2010. The day is a chance for myself as the regional coach to try and identify future players to join the Regional Squad, it will be a mix of training and match play.

There are various new initiatives being set up around the region which can cater for various age groups, playing standards etc so if you are interested in coming along please contact me. Or if you know of anyone else who may have the potential to come along to this day then please pass this email onto them.

Players who have been attending the Regional U14 Squad 2009/2010 do not need to attend this day.

I am sending out to all Team Captains one copy of the ETTA Approved Laws of Table Tennis issued free by the ETTA and an entry form for the N Herts Closed Free Tournament and the N Herts Summer League. The 2010/11 Individual Registration Form will be issued to your Club Sec to complete and return with next years League Registration Form for new players (please advise me if your details change). The ETTA registration fee method will also change with every player paying this fee (rather than by team) through the League, juniors will have a special rate and players in more than one league will only pay once.

The NHTTA AGM will be held at HBSC on Thursday 27th May 2010 at 8pm.Mark Redford has been an excellent Treasurer for 10 years and wishes to stand down so we need a Treasurer

The N Herts Closed Free Tournament will be played at Hitchin Boys Sports Centre 7.30 prompt. (all entry forms available on the website or from me - )

The N Herts Junior Tournament will be played on Monday 29^th March - for entry form contact wkaren@ntlworld.com or www.northhertstabletennis.org.uk

The N Herts Grand Prix will be played Saturday 27^th/Sunday 28^th February. Although the entry is now closed, if you do wish to enter, scratch players will be accepted where there is a vacancy. We would be very pleased if you came to watch and help in setting up on Friday night and taking down on Sunday would be much appreciated. Bribar will be in attendance with a range of bats, rubbers and equipment at very competitive prices on Saturday 14^th March. (See handbook page 13)

The North Herts Summer League will run (numbers permitting) for 10 weeks, 8 – 10pm on Mondays 7th June - 9^th Aug @ £50 per 2 person team. You may have as many players as you wish at no extra cost (entry form on the website or contact Val)

The St. Neots Table Tennis Centre has a number of used table tennis tables for sale. 

They are Donic Compact 22mm table tennis tables and are currently on offer for £200.

Please see details below of a coach education day at St Neots on 10^th January 2010. This will be the second day of such a kind this season, the first one proving to be a huge success.

Coach Education Day

The day will be a mixture of theory and practical so please ensure you come appropriately dressed to take part in all activities. All coaches attending will receive a continuous professional development folder, handouts of topics covered on the day and also certificates of attendance to keep in your coaching portfolio.

The price is £15 for the day, however if you are a licensed coach the cost is £12.

Tea and Coffee will be available on the day, however please bring lunch with you.

RUSHTON TAKES FIRST PLACE IN THE WARREN SPRING 50^th ANNIVERSARY TOURNAMENT

A near capacity crowd saw the England No 4 Andrew Rushton win the recently held Top Six Tournament at the Plinston Hall, Letchworth.

The event brought together six of the country’s leading players and produced an evening of high quality table tennis with many matches going the full distance.

Cheques for £400 and £300 were presented to Andrew and runner-up and England No 6 Gavin Evans whilst placings 3^rd to 6^th received £250, £200, £175 and £125 respectively. The prizes were presented by Warren Spring Club Secretary Roger Bowler.
